Offline dictionaries do not need an active internet connection, while online dictionaries require an active internet connection.
All Babylon dictionaries work both online and offline*.
In order for it to work offline, the dictionary or glossary must first be downloaded and installed.
- Open Babylon, click on Menu, then Settings
- Click the Dictionaries tab.
- Click the Add Dictionaries button to download and install one of our free dictionaries or glossaries, so that you will be able to work offline without any internet connection.
If you are using the free version of Babylon, please keep in mind that you can't translate while offline and will need to purchase a license.
* There are a few exceptions. "Smart dictionaries" and "Wikipedia dictionaries" are only available online.
